City Council Meetings – Week of September 29th

Zoning and Planning Committee: The Zoning and Planning Committee will meet on Wednesday, October 2nd beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Room 211 and discuss the following items:

  • Proposal to review and possibly amend the Demolition Delay and Landmark Ordinances – See Planning Memo
  • Appointment of Dante Capasso to the Auburndale Historic District Commission

The Zoning and Planning Committee will then meet jointly with the Public Facilities Committee in the Council Chamber to discuss the following items:

  • Discussion and adoption of items within the Climate Action Plan and the Citizen’s Climate Action Plan with the Sustainability Directors, Climate Action Planning Team, and the Citizen’s Commission on Energy
  • Request adoption of the Climate Action Plan as an amendment to the City’s 2007 Comprehensive Plan – See Planning Memo

The Zoning and Planning Committee will then discuss the following items:

  • Request to approve and adopt the Washington Street Vision Plan as an amendment to the City’s 2007 Comprehensive Plan – See Planning Memo
  • Request to amend Chapter 7, Section 81 of the City’s Ordinances to better define the membership of the Community Preservation Committee, to clarify oversight and to include City approval procedures required by the 2012 update of the state law – See Planning Memo

Land Use Committee: The Land Use Committee will meet on Thursday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to construct at 2.5 story addition to the side of #27 and creating an FAR of .53 where .49 is allowed and .40 exists at 25-27 Oak Street – (Planning Memo not currently posted)
  • Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to construct a 2-story rear addition, further extending the non-conforming side setback and non-conforming lot coverage at 14 Church StreetSee Planning Memo

  • Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to allow a three-story, 24-unit multi-family dwelling greater than 20,000 sq. ft. of new gross floor area, to allow for ground floor residential units, to reconstruct and further extend non-conforming side setbacks, to allow an FAR of 1.4 in a three-story structure, to waive 24 parking stalls, to waive minimum stall depth requirements, to waive the maximum driveway width requirement, and to allow a retaining wall greater than 4 feet in height within a setback at 20 Kinmonth Road – See Planning Memo
  • Request to amend a previously approved Special Permit/Site Plan to permit a for-profit educational use as well as other uses which could include animal services, dry cleaners, and ground floor health clubs at 55-71 Needham Street – See Planning Memo
  • Amended Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to allow four single-family attached dwellings in one building, to allow reduced side-setbacks, to allow three-stories, to increase the allowed lot coverage, to decrease the minimum open space, to allow a driveway within 10 feet of the side lot line, and to allow retaining walls greater than 4 feet within a setback at 145 Warren StreetSee Planning Memo
  • Request for an extension of time to open a public hearing on a Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to allow retail marijuana sales and associated waivers to parking, screening, landscaping and lighting requirements at 58 Cross Street/1089 Washington Street
