City Council Meetings – Week of September 22nd

Zoning and Planning Committee: The Zoning and Planning Committee will meet on Monday, September 23rd at 6:45 p.m. in Room 211. The agenda begins with the appointment of Rick Wetmore to the Chestnut Hill Historic District Commission. The Committee will then join the Land Use Committee (see agenda here) at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber to discuss the following:

  • Proposed Zoning Amendments for the Riverside MBTA station relative to the MU3 District (proposal from the Developer) – See Planning Department Memo
  • Proposed Zoning Amendments for the Riverside MBTA station pertaining to the MU3/Tranist Oriented zoning district as proposed by the Lower Falls Improvement Association – See Planning Department Memo
  • Request by the Developer to rezone the portions of land located at 355 Grove Street (currently zoned as BU2) and 399 Grove Street (currently zoned as BU-5) – See Planning Department Memo
  • Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to allow Mixed Use Development at the Riverside MBTA Station – See Planning Department Memo

Land Use Committee and Zoning and Planning Committee: The Land Use Committee will meet jointly with the Zoning and Planning Committee on Monday, September 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber. Land Use Committee: The Land Use Committee will meet on Tuesday, September 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request to amend a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to construct a 329 sq. ft. one-car garage where a three-car garage exists, creating private garage space greater than 700 sq. ft., more than one garage, a private garage for more than 3 vehicles, extending the non-conforming height and exceeding the allowable FAR at 333 Otis Street – See Planning Department Memo
  • Request to amend a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to construct a flat roof over the second story, creating a three-story structure at 410 Newtonville Avenue – See Planning Department Memo
  • Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to allow an accessory apartment larger than 1000 sq. ft. in the existing lower level space at 342 Dudley Road – See Planning Department Memo
  • Request for a change of zone to Business Use 4 from Mixed Use 1 at 275-281 Needham Street (Northland)
  • Request for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to allow mixed-use development and a whole host of waivers for the proposed Northland Development

Finance Committee: The Finance Committee will meet on Wednesday, September 25th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 211. The agenda includes the following:

  • Appointment of Brian Davis to the Board of Assessors
  • Request to amend Section 19-191 to allow the Director of Planning and Development, in consultation with the Commissioner of Public Works, to set the fees for parking meter spaces
  • Request authorization to transfer the sume of $136,020.45 from the Water Fund Reserve to the Water Main 2018 Debt Service
