It’s Marathon Monday and that means there will not only be thousands of runners to cheer on but lots of road closures too. Here’s what to expect:
Road closures along the route beginning on Monday morning as early as 8 a.m.
- Washington Street at the Wellesley Line to Beacon Street will close at 8:30 am.
- Beacon Street at Washington Street to Washington Street at Commonwealth Avenue will close at 8 am.
- Washington Street at Commonwealth Avenue to the Boston line will close at 8 am.
Parking Restrictions will be in place along the Marathon route on Commonwealth Avenue. In addition, carriage lanes along Commonwealth Avenue and parts of streets that feed into the main Marathon route along Comm. Ave will be closed.
Roads are expected to re-open at 6 pm.
Residents who live on Homer St between Commonwealth Ave and Walnut St, Walnut St between Commonwealth Ave and Homer St, Cummings Rd and North St should be advised that this will be a Police Security Zone and therefore will be open to abutters only from 9am-6pm.
