Traffic Council to Meet on Thursday, October 25th

The Traffic Council will meet on Thursday, October 25th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 211. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request for a two-hour parking restriction 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Monday – Friday on Playstead Road
  • Request for a 3-way stop sign at Vernon and Eldridge Streets
  • Request to remove an accessible parking space in front of 58 Churchill Street (no longer needed)
  • Request to add a stop sign at Wilshire and Jackson Road
  • Request to remove a parking space reserved for Underwood School and return it to public circulation on Richardson Street
  • Discussion and possible action regarding short-term unmetered parking spaces on the east side of Centre Street between Vernon and Centre Avenue into long-term metered parking
  • Request for a parking restriction on both sides of Carlson Avenue
  • Request for a discussion and possible change to circulation and direction of travel on Ward Street between Elmore and Morseland Avenue
  • Request to edit Section TPR-84¬†Speed zones designated part (a) and to
    remove Section TPR-84 Speed zones designated part (b) from the Traffic and
    Parking Regulations (TPR). Section 84(b) lists the special speed regulations for
    streets in Newton, which are approved by MassDOT and not by the Newton
    Traffic Council
  • Request to remove the left turn prohibitions listed in the Traffic and Parking Regulations (TPR) from Centre Street onto Jefferson Street and onto Pearl Street.¬† Currently no signs are posted that would prevent left turns, and this item would make no change
