City Council Meetings – Week of October 7th

Land Use Committee:  The Land Use Committee will meet on Tuesday, October 9th at 7:00 p.m.  The agenda includes the following:

  • Petition for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to convert a single family house to a three story, six-family unit with ground floor units, to construct a second three-story, three residential unit building with ground floor units, and to allow reductions and waivers of other requirements such as parking and lighting at 424-432 Cherry Street -Public Hearing
  • Petition for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to amend a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to allow the addition of dormers to the attic level where 3.5 stories exist and 2.5 is allowed at 47 Lewis Street Public Hearing
  • Petition for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to raise the roof of the existing 2.5 story house and add an oversized front and rear dormers to the attic level and creating a third story where 2.5 is allowed at 63 Cherry Street;
  • Petition for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to amend a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to allow off-site relocation of inclusionary zoning units as well as 24 additional units at 219 Commonwealth Avenue (See Petitioner’s Response to Livable Newton letter)
  • Petition for a Special Permit/Site Plan Approval to allow a 12 unit multi-family development in a business district with greater than 20,000 gross floor area with a three-story structure, 41’in height, allowing  an FAR of 1.31, and allowing waivers to parking, lighting, setback requirements at 189-193 Adams Street/Quirk Court-Public Hearing

Zoning and Planning Committee:  The Zoning and Planning Committee will meet on Wednesday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 205. The agenda includes the following:

  • Request for an appropriation of $100,000 to control of the Law Department for professional services related to the protection of open space at 300 Hammond Pond Parkway;
  • Discussion of the Washington Street Corridor Plan;
  • Discussion of the Committee’s review of the Zoning Redesign Draft, Discussion of the upcoming Ward by Ward meetings on Zoning Redesign;
  • Committee’s Review of the Washington Street Vision Plan
