Board and Commission Meetings – Week of August 5th

Planning and Development Board:  The Planning and Development Board will meet TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m. in Room 204.  The agenda includes the following:

  • Briefings on Zoning Redesign, Inclusionary Zoning, Economic Development Action Plan, Marijuana Establishment Zoning and Washington Street Vision Plan
  • Election of Officers
  • Designation of Community Preservation Committee Representative
  • Board Training
  • Upcoming Fall Schedue

Election Commission:  The Elections Commission will meet on Wednesday, August 8th at 8:00 p.m. in Room 205.  The agenda includes the review of the Fall Election Calendar, Update on the Marijuana Question and Initiative Petition, review of the Ballot Question mailer, Election Chair for 2018 and the setting of Commission meeting dates for the fall.

Conservation Commission Vernal Pool Ordinance Working Group:  The working group will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, August 8th at 6:00 p.m. at the Newton Free Library Room 2F.  The agenda can be found here.

Conservation Commission:  The Conservation Commission will meet on Thursday, August 9th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 204.  The agenda includes the following:

  • Four Notice of Intents:  51 Oakland Avenue – proposal to demolish portion of the single-family house and construct several additions with associated stormwater management and mitigation plantings, 33 Wayne Road – proposal to demolish existing single-family home and construct a new single-family home with associated driveways and utilities, 53 Brandeis Road – proposal to demolish and existing single-family house and construct a new single-family house with associated deck and driveway, and 1 Malvern Terrace – proposal to construct a new single-family house with associated deck, driveway and infiltration.
  • Certificate of Compliance:  380 Quinobequin Road – for work done under an Order of Conditions #239-769 for an addition and mitigation plantings

Designer Selection Committee:  The Designer Selection Committee will meet on Thursday, August 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the Trustee’s Room.  The agenda includes interview of the short listed OPM respondents for Lincoln-Eliot NECP Project and Designer Response Reviews and Review of responses, deliberate, score and short-list designer respondents for interviews.

Newton Upper Falls Historic District Commission:  The Upper Falls Historic District Commission will meet on Thursday, August 9th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 205.  The agenda includes a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness at 1238 Chestnut Street to amend previously approved windows, window trim and window program on the 1899 Building and discussion of Letter of Support for nomination of the Echo Bridge and historic railing for Preservation Massachusetts 2018 Most Endangered Historic Resource List.
