School Committee:  The School Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 210 at the Ed Center.  The agenda can be found here.  Note:  There will be an update on High School Start Times.

School Committee (Executive Session):  The School Committee will meet in Executive Session on Tuesday, November 14th at 6:20 p.m. in Room 304 at the Ed Center to discuss litigation and potential settlement for a claim against the Newton Public Schools.  The Meeting Notice can be found here.

Economic Development Commission:  The Economic Development Commission is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, November 14th at 7:30 p.m. in Room 204 and is scheduled to discuss the following:  Updates from the Economic Development Director, updates from the Economic Development Commission chair,  discussion on the RFP Stakeholder Engagement, approval of meeting minutes, discussion of expiring terms and re-appointments and agenda items for future meetings. Community Preservation Committee:  The Community Preservation Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, November 16th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 204 and is expected to discuss the following:  staff overview of program finances, public hearing and possible vote on Newton Cemetery – Whipple-Beal Cast Iron Fence $60K request; update on the conceptual design and feasibility phase for the Crescent Street project, request to submit off-cycle full proposal for $2,640,000 in additional CPA funding for final design and construction; and an update from the Planning & Development Dept.proposing to revision to the Newton Homebuyer Assistance Program‘s purpose from creating new affordable units to preserving the affordability of units already in the program, retaining $735,000 for the new purpose and returning $845,745 for other CPA-eligible housing purposes.  The agenda and pre-meeting packet can be found here.
