Other City Board and Commission Meetings – Week of October 8th

The following Boards and Commissions are scheduled to meet this week:

Auburndale Historic District Commission:  The Auburndale Historic District Commission is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 205 and is expected to discuss the following requests for Certificate of Appropriateness:  a request to remove two windows and install new windows at 38 Vista Avenue,  and a request to remove the existing front porch railing and replace the front stair railing at 33 Hancock Street.  For more information, please contact Barbara Kurze by phone at:  617-796-1129 or by email at: bkurze@newtonma.gov. Economic Development Commission:  The Economic Development Commission is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, October 10th at 7:30 p.m. in Room 204.  According to the Planning Department’s Friday report (EDC agenda is not posted), the Commission is expected to have their usual updates from the Economic Development Director and the Economic Development Commission Chair, and will have a discussion on Sunrise Assisted Living special permit application that is currently before the Council.  For more information, please contact Kathryn Ellis by phone at 617-796-1122 or by email at:

Planning and Development Board:  The Planning and Development Board is scheduled to meet jointly with the Zoning and Planning Committee on Wednesday, October 11th at 7:45 p.m. to hear a request for a zoning amendment to permit lodging houses with rules requiring inspections and licensing.  The agenda is not posted but you can refer to the Zoning and Planning Committee agenda here.
