Other City Board and Commission Meetings – Week of June 18th

The following City Boards and Commissions are meeting this week:

The Parks and Recreation Commission:  The Parks and Recreation Commission is scheduled to meet tonight, June 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers for the Youth Awards and go to Room 205 and discuss the following:  Commissioner’s Reports on Programs, Forestry and Maintenance, hold a public hearing regarding the Bridge at Nahanton Park,  discuss committee reports – Community Preservation Committee, Farm Commission, Cabot Redesign Committee, Commonwealth Golf Course, Off-Leash Area Working Group (OLAWG), Crystal Lake Working Group (CLWG) and the  Nahanton Park Committee.  The agenda can be found here.

School Committee:  The School Committee is scheduled to meet tonight, June 19th at 7:00 p.m. at the Ed Center, Room 210.  The agenda can be found here.

School Committee Executive Session:  The School Committee was originally scheduled to hold an Executive Session but it has now been cancelled.  The cancellation notice can be found here.

Board of Licensing Commission:  The Board of Licensing Commission is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, June 20th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 204.  The agenda can be found here.

Library Board of Trustees:  The Library Board of Trustees are scheduled to meet on Wednesday, June 21st at 9:00 a.m. in the Trustee Room. The agenda can be found here.

The Urban Design Commission:  The Urban Design Commission is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, June 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Planning Department Conference Room (B10) and is expected to discuss the following sign permit applications:

  • 30 Langley Road – Denim & Soul,
  • 341 Washington Street – Scott Lennon for Mayor,
  • 151-153 Needham Street – Qdoba,
  • 303 Auburn Street – Abaxis Framing Co.,
  • 612 Washington Street – 7‐Eleven,
  • 98-100 Winchester Street – 7‐Eleven

Newton Historical Commission:  The Newton Historical Commission is scheduled to meet on Thursday, June 22nd and is expected to discuss the following requests:  request to renovate and add accessible side entrance for 219 Commonwealth Avenue, CLG Eligibility Report request for 6 Woodchester Road, CLG Eligibility Report request for 143 Neshobe Road, request to demolish the community center at 111 Kennedy Circle, request to demolish the property at 210 Cotton Street, request to demolish property at 43 Crafts Street, request to demolish property at 57 Walnut Street, request to demolish and add a new porch for property at 5 Chester Street, request to remove chimneys at 450 Winchester Street, request to waive the the demo delay at 65 Ferncroft Road, and a request to waive the demo delay for property at 16 Dalby Street.
